Is World Kia Joliet a good dealership?

We would rather show you than tell you. Every story on this site was written by a verified customer and is published exactly as written, positive and negative alike. Each published story shows whether that customer would send a friend to World Kia Joliet, and the running count appears on the home page — the ones who said no are published too. Read the sales and service stories and judge for yourself. We screen submissions only to confirm the person was a customer, never for sentiment.

Do I need an appointment to test drive?

No. You are welcome to stop in anytime. You can schedule an appointment if you would like, but it is not necessary.

How long does buying a car actually take there?

It can take as little as an hour. The choice is largely up to the customer. We won't rush you during any stage of the process. Some guests want to test drive several cars, or compare multiple financing options, and that is fine with us.

Can I do most of the deal online or by phone?

Definitely. We are happy to get as much of the paperwork out of the way before you arrive if that is what you prefer.

Do you sell used cars from other brands?

Yes. We offer pre-owned vehicles from Toyota, Honda, Chevrolet, Ford, Subaru, BMW, Hyundai, GMC, and more.

Is the price on the website the real price?

Yes it is. It is the price we honor when you call or stop in.

Why buy from World Kia instead of another Kia dealer?

Anyone can quote you a price. What you're really deciding is who you want standing behind the car after you drive it home. Here's our answer. The 100K Mile Promise comes with the car. Every qualifying vehicle we sell is backed by our 100K Mile Promise, an ownership warranty because we service what we sell and we wnat you to know you will get more for your money here than elsewhere. You're not buying a car and hoping; you're buying a car with a plan attached. Our customers do the talking, in their own words. We publish written customer stories at worldkiareviews.com, unedited, in the customer's exact words, including the ones that mention what went wrong and how we handled it. We publish them because we're accountable to them. Read what people from Joliet, Crest Hill, Plainfield, and Shorewood say about the person who helped them before you ever walk in. You'll deal with a person, not a rotation. Our sales consultants are named, and their customer stories are attached to them individually. When someone helps you here, their reputation is on the page. That changes how people treat you, and it's why we build careers here instead of hiring turnover. Sales and service under one roof, one relationship. The store that sells you the car is the store that maintains it. Your service history, your advisor, and your salesperson stay connected, so year three feels like day one. Hablamos español. Our reviews site, our paperwork help, and our people serve Spanish-speaking families across Will County, because our customers do not come in one language. We're from here. 2525 W Jefferson Street, Joliet. Same community, same roads, same winters. When we say we'll see you at your first oil change, we mean it literally. Come see us, or start by reading what your neighbors wrote. Either way, you'll know who you're dealing with before you spend a dollar.

Do you sell EVs and hybrids?

Yes, both new and pre-owned.

What does Certified Pre-Owned include?

A Kia Certified Pre-Owned vehicle is one that passed Kia's official CPO multi-point inspection and carries the benefits Kia's program defines, which typically include: • A CARFAX® vehicle history report • Limited powertrain warranty coverage measured from the vehicle's original in-service date • Platinum limited warranty coverage • 24/7 roadside assistance, with towing, rental and travel-breakdown benefits • Eligibility for additional service-contract coverage Exact inspection point count, coverage lengths and eligibility are set by Kia and depend on the vehicle's age, mileage and in-service date. Ask us at 779-206-2400 for the terms on a specific vehicle, or see Kia's official Certified Pre-Owned program information.

What warranty comes with a new Kia?

New Kia vehicles are covered by Kia's limited warranty program, which sets different terms for different components — for example a 10-year/100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty and a 5-year/60,000-mile limited basic warranty, subject to Kia's terms and conditions. The 10-year/100,000-mile term is powertrain coverage for the original owner, not blanket coverage of the whole vehicle. Ask us at 779-206-2400 for the current details on the specific model you are considering, or see Kia's official warranty information.

Will you deliver my car to me?

Yes. Just let us know how we can help.

What are retired loaners and demos?

These are vehicles that have been used as loaners in our service department, usually with about 3,000 miles. Demos are vehicles driven by dealership employees and in most cases have between 100 and 3,500 miles.

What documents should I bring to buy a car?

Bring a photo ID or your driver's license. In some cases a lender will also require proof of residence and proof of income. Let us know if any of that will be a problem and we will do our best to work around it.

Are your prices negotiable?

In most cases, yes. Some vehicles are priced firmly and will only be sold at that price; others may be negotiated. We are glad to work toward a deal that makes sense for both sides, and we will tell you which category a vehicle falls into before you spend time on it.

What is your documentation fee?

Currently it is $378. It adjusts on January 1 each year.

Can I hold a vehicle with a deposit?

Yes. Usually, we hold the price and the vehicle with a deposit.

Do you ship vehicles out of state?

Yes, we do. We ship vehicles to many different states across the US.

Do you sell rebuilt-title vehicles?

No. We do not sell those.

Is there an exchange or return period?

No. We would prefer you to take an extended test drive, even overnight, to make sure you are happy with your purchase and avoid returns.

Can I test drive at my home?

Yes. We will bring a car to you to test at your home, work, or a mechanic's.

Can I take a used car to my own mechanic before buying?

Yes you can.

Will you show me the vehicle history report without me asking?

Yes. We show the vehicle history report to anyone looking at a used car.

Do you sell cars below the advertised price?

Yes. In some cases that does happen.

What does "market adjustment" mean and do you charge one?

A market adjustment is an amount added above MSRP when demand exceeds supply. In some cases we do apply one, and when we do, it is explained to the guest up front along with the reason for it. It is not something we do routinely. If a dealer applies one on every vehicle, that is worth questioning.

If I tell you my budget, will it be used against me?

No, not at all. That allows us to work within your budget and not exceed it. It allows us to show you cars that make the most sense for you.

Can I sleep on it, or will the deal disappear tomorrow?

You can take as much time as you need, and the deal will not disappear. If the car could be sold to someone else, we will let you know so you have the chance to make a firm decision.

What happens if I find a problem the week after I buy?

We will be happy to review the issue and work together to resolve it.

Can I buy from out of state, and how do taxes work?

Yes. You pay taxes based on where you will be titling the car.

Can I buy a car for my business or fleet?

Yes. We help many business owners purchase vehicles for their company.

Can I put the car in two names?

Yes, that is very common.

Can I buy a car as a gift for someone else?

Most definitely. We assist with this very often.

My teenager is buying their first car. How does that work?

We can work with you and your family to structure the deal to best suit your needs.

Can I order a Kia exactly how I want it?

We can make those special requests, but usually we either have the car in stock, on its way, or we can locate it for you.

How long does a factory order take?

Typically 4 to 6 weeks.

How does the federal EV tax credit work when I buy from you?

We follow the Federal guidelines set forth for all purchases.

Can I charge an EV6 or EV9 at home without special equipment?

Yes, but you will want a professionally installed system at your home.

What happens to EV range in an Illinois winter?

EV range drops in winter, sometimes substantially. The battery itself is less efficient when cold, and unlike a gasoline vehicle, an EV has to use stored battery energy to heat the cabin and battery. A useful rule of thumb for typical range loss: • 40–50°F — about 5–10% • 25–40°F — about 10–20% • 10–25°F — about 20–30% • 0–10°F — about 25–35% • Below 0°F — can approach 35–40% or more

How long does the EV battery last, and what's the warranty?

Kia's high-voltage EV battery is covered by a limited warranty — for example, 10 years/100,000 miles on current Kia EVs, subject to Kia's terms and conditions. Real-world lifespan depends on climate, charging habits, and use, so we do not quote a fixed number of years. For the coverage that applies to the specific model you are considering, ask us at 779-206-2400 or see Kia's official EV warranty information.

Is a Niro hybrid or a full EV better for a long commute?

A Niro hybrid would require fewer energy stops than a full EV on a long commute.

Can someone else pick up the vehicle for me?

Only if they are on the paperwork or carry written authority. The buyer named on the contract has to sign the contract, so the person picking the car up either has to be that buyer, a co-buyer on the deal, or someone we can accept based on prior communication. We can often do the signing remotely and then release the vehicle to the person you send.

Do I leave with plates, and how do the permanent plates arrive?

We can issue your plates right here at the dealership, so you do not have to wait a month for permanent plates to arrive in the mail. If you already have Illinois plates you want to keep, we can transfer those current plates to your new vehicle instead. We handle the registration and plate paperwork with you at the dealership and explain which option applies to your transaction. Questions before you come in? Call 779-206-2400.

Do you add dealer-installed accessories to the price, and can I decline them?

Ask before you agree to anything. If an item is already installed on the specific car you want, it may not be removable, but the charge is a line on the worksheet you are allowed to see, question and negotiate like any other. Anything not yet installed can simply be declined. Ask for the out-the-door worksheet in writing before you sign, and read every line on it. Call 779-206-2400 and ask what is already on the car you are looking at.

What forms of payment do you take for a down payment or a cash purchase?

Most customers use a debit card, a cashier's check, a personal check or a bank wire, and card down payments are usually capped. Large cash purchases are legal and welcome, but federal law requires the dealership to file a report for cash transactions above $10,000, so a cashier's check or a wire is normally the smoother path. Confirm what you plan to use before you come in by calling 779-206-2400, so nothing about your payment slows the delivery down.

What is the difference between MSRP and the selling price?

MSRP is the manufacturer's suggested retail price on the window sticker. The selling price is what you and the dealership agree to, and it can be lower than MSRP, equal to it, or higher when a vehicle is in short supply. Neither number is your out-the-door price: taxes, title, registration and the documentation fee are added on top, and any rebate or trade equity comes off. Ask for the out-the-door figure in writing so you are comparing one number, not four.

Do you deliver cars to my house?

Yes, we will deliver your car to you. Just let us know how we can help. We can also bring a vehicle to you to test drive at your home, work, or a mechanic's.

Questions

Finance & Insurance

Can you get me financed with bad credit?

Challenged credit is one of the most common situations we work with. We submit your application to a network of banks and credit unions and work to find you an approval, but the lender makes the final decision — we cannot promise an outcome in advance. The best step is to apply so we can tell you where you actually stand. You can also read stories from customers who came to us with credit concerns, or call 779-206-2400 with questions first.

Do you work with first-time buyers with no credit history?

Yes, we do. We are happy to answer any questions about the particular needs of a first-time buyer.

Will you match a lower rate from my bank?

Bring us the rate your bank or credit union offered. Because we submit to multiple lenders, we can often find a comparable or better rate — but not always, and we will tell you honestly if your own bank's offer is the best one. There is no pressure to finance through us. Rates and terms are set by the lender based on your application.

Can I get pre-approved before I come in?

Definitely. We can get everything done before you arrive if you would like.

Does checking my options hurt my credit score?

It can. We can use soft pulls that do not affect your credit at all. When we do submit a full application, we are deliberate about which lenders we send it to, so your credit is not pulled more times than necessary.

Can I finance service or repairs?

Yes. We have several options to finance service, maintenance, and repairs.

Do you offer extended warranties or GAP coverage?

Yes. We offer both on new and used vehicles.

Can I get approved after a bankruptcy?

We regularly work with customers who have a bankruptcy in their history. It does not automatically disqualify you — approvals depend on how recent the filing is, whether it is discharged, your current income, and the lender. We will submit your application and give you an honest answer. The lender makes the final call, so we cannot promise an approval in advance.

Can I get approved after a repossession?

We regularly work with customers who have a repossession in their history. It does not automatically disqualify you — approvals depend on how recent it is, whether the balance was resolved, your current income, and the lender. We will submit your application and give you an honest answer. The lender makes the final call, so we cannot promise an approval in advance.

Can I buy a car with an ITIN instead of a Social Security number?

Yes. We work with lenders that accept an ITIN in place of a Social Security number. Call 779-206-2400 and we will walk you through what those lenders ask for.

Do I need a cosigner if my credit is bad?

Not necessarily. Several factors go into that decision, and we will work through yours to find the best outcome available to you.

Can I get a loan without a cosigner?

Many customers finance on their own with no cosigner. Whether you need one depends on your credit, your income, and the lender's terms — a cosigner can help a borderline application but is not always required. Apply and we will tell you what your own application supports. The lender makes the final decision.

Will you accept a cosigner who lives out of state?

Yes. We can work with a cosigner who lives out of state.

I'm self-employed. What do I need to show for income?

It depends on the lender. In some cases nothing is needed. In others, bank statements or possibly tax returns. We do our best to minimize documents to get you a loan.

Does disability or Social Security income count for financing?

Yes. Both are considered income by lenders and can count toward a loan decision.

Do you have programs for recent college grads?

Yes. Manufacturers regularly offer special rebates for recent college grads.

Is there a military discount or military financing program?

Yes. Manufacturers regularly offer special rebates for military personnel.

What credit score do I actually need to buy a car here?

There is no single minimum credit score. Some lenders will even work with an applicant who has no score at all. We will work hard to help you even if your score is low.

Can I get pre-approved without a hard credit pull?

Yes. We can get started with a soft pull and have a solid idea of where we can place your financing before anyone runs a hard inquiry.

Can buying a car here help rebuild my credit?

Yes. Making regular payments on a car loan can help build or rebuild your credit.

My credit is good but my spouse's isn't. Should we apply together?

It depends on the lender. Bring us both situations and we will show you which structure is likely to cost you less.

I was turned down somewhere else. Is it worth applying with you?

Yes. Being turned down at one store does not mean every lender will decline you, because different dealers submit to different lenders. We will submit your application and give you an honest answer either way. The lender makes the final decision.

What does "out-the-door price" mean and will you give it to me in writing?

It means everything you are paying for, including tax, title, license, and all fees. Yes, we are happy to put that in writing before you buy.

What fees are added on top of the advertised price?

A documentation fee regulated by the state is added. Other fees can be related to your state requirements.

Do you mark up the interest rate the bank gives you?

In some cases, we do. Our deals have to be profitable, and we work with customers to create a deal that is good for them as well as us, in a transparent environment.

Can I use outside financing and still get your advertised deals?

Yes you can.

How much should I put down?

The more money you put down, the lower your payment and the faster you build equity. We will work with you to show you the advantages of putting down money.

Can I buy with zero down?

Yes. In fact, sometimes it is a good idea. For example, when zero-percent financing is available, it may make sense to put nothing down.

Is 72 or 84 month financing a bad idea?

Not necessarily. If a longer term gets you into a better vehicle at a payment you can afford, it may be the right choice for you. The tradeoff is that you pay more interest over the life of the loan.

What happens if I want to pay the loan off early?

No problem. Banks and lenders allow for that without penalty.

Should I lease or buy?

Whether you should lease or buy depends on how long you keep your vehicles, how many miles you drive, and how much flexibility you want. Leasing usually gives you a lower monthly payment, newer vehicles more often, and less exposure to long-term repair costs. The tradeoff is mileage limits, possible wear charges, and no ownership at the end. Buying usually costs more per month, but you build equity, have no mileage restrictions, and can keep the vehicle payment-free after the loan is finished. If you like changing vehicles every three years, leasing can make sense. If you keep vehicles six years or longer, buying is usually the better financial decision. Neither is automatically better; the right choice depends on how you actually use your vehicle.

What do I need to know before my lease ends?

You need to understand your mileage, vehicle condition, payoff amount, and available options. Start checking these several months before maturity. If you are over your mileage allowance, know the per-mile charge and compare that cost with trading the vehicle instead. Inspect the vehicle for excess wear, tire condition, windshield damage, dents, and missing equipment. Also find out whether your lease has any purchase option fees or disposition fees. You generally have three choices: return it, buy it, or trade it. Don’t assume returning it is automatically best. Your vehicle may be worth more than the lease payoff, which could give you equity toward your next vehicle. Before making a decision, get the exact payoff and compare it with the vehicle’s current market value. A little preparation can prevent unnecessary charges and potentially save you thousands.

Can I buy out my lease at your store even if I leased elsewhere?

Yes you can.

What is GAP coverage and do I actually need it?

GAP coverage protects you if your vehicle is declared a total loss and your insurance settlement is less than what you still owe on the loan or lease. For example, if you owe $32,000 but your insurance company values the vehicle at $27,000, GAP may cover that $5,000 difference, subject to the terms of the policy or waiver. You should strongly consider GAP if you financed with little money down, rolled negative equity into the new loan, have a long loan term, or bought a vehicle that may depreciate quickly. It is also commonly included or required in many leases. You may not need it if you made a substantial down payment or already owe considerably less than the vehicle is worth.

Are the extras in the finance office negotiable?

Yes they are. You can receive all the information you need to make a qualified decision before you buy.

Can I cancel an extended warranty I already bought?

Yes. We can process the cancellation at your request and handle the refund for the unused portion of the agreement.

Do you have programs for first responders, teachers or healthcare workers?

Ask us the week you are buying. Kia runs manufacturer programs from time to time for military members, first responders, mobility needs and recent college graduates, and eligibility rules and amounts are set by Kia, not by the store.

Do you offer 0% financing or special APR programs?

Sometimes, on specific models and only for buyers who qualify with the captive lender. Kia Finance publishes promotional APR and lease programs that change monthly and vary by model, term and credit tier, and a low APR and a cash rebate are frequently an either-or choice rather than both. The honest answer is that it depends on the month and the model you want. Call 779-206-2400 or start at our finance page and we will tell you what is actually running the day you ask.

Questions

Trade-ins

Will you buy my car even if I don't buy one from you?

Yes. We are typically interested in buying used vehicles for our pre-owned department, whether or not you buy from us. Bring it in for an appraisal, or call 779-206-2400 — the offer depends on the vehicle, its condition, and current market demand.

How do you decide what my trade is worth?

We use numerous market indicators and value guides to get you the right money for your car.

What if I still owe money on my trade?

We help people in this situation every day. We handle all of the paperwork necessary to pay off your existing loan and complete the transaction.

Can I trade in a leased vehicle?

Yes. We can assist with this and help you get into another vehicle when trading in your lease.

Will you appraise a car with mechanical problems?

Yes. We understand that sometimes a trade-in does have problems.

Can I get my trade value without coming in?

Yes. We can work with you to get you a number on what your car could be worth over the phone and online.

Do I need the title in hand to trade my car?

No. Not if you still have a loan on the vehicle, because the lender holds the title.

My trade is in my ex's name. What do I do?

We will need to get the proper paperwork signed by all people involved in the trade-in transaction who have an ownership interest.

Why is your trade offer different from the online quote?

The vehicle may not have been in the condition it was described in, or it may have had a warning light on.

Can I trade in two vehicles on one purchase?

Yes. Two trades on one deal is routine — each vehicle is appraised on its own, each payoff is handled separately, and the combined equity applies to the vehicle you are buying. Bring both vehicles, both titles or payoff details, and the keys for each. Start the appraisals with a call to 779-206-2400 so we have both ready when you arrive.

Does trading in a car reduce the sales tax I pay in Illinois?

In Illinois, a trade-in can reduce the taxable amount of your purchase, and the credit is subject to state limits that can change with the law. That is one reason a trade can be worth more to you than a private sale even when the private-sale number looks bigger on paper. We will show you the tax line on your worksheet so you can see the effect on your own deal. This is general information, not tax advice — confirm your situation with your tax professional.

How long does an appraisal take?

Usually about 5 minutes while you are here — a walk-around, a short drive, a look underneath and a check of the current market and history report. Bring the title or your lender and payoff information, your registration, both keys and any service records; missing keys and missing records are the two things that most often lower an offer. Call ahead at 779-206-2400 and we will have an appraiser ready when you arrive. We can also do appraisals without seeing the car pending a live review at some point.

Questions

Service

Do I need an appointment for an oil change?

No, walk-ins are welcome. An appointment is recommended to get you in and out quickly.

Do you service other brands or just Kia?

We service almost every make, not just Kia.

Do you have loaner cars or a shuttle?

We have a fleet of 40 or more loaner cars available for our service guests.

Can I wait while my car is serviced?

Yes. We have a very comfortable waiting room with snacks, drinks, Wi-Fi, and TV.

Do you text updates while my car is in the shop?

Yes. We do text updates as well as call or email if you prefer.

Are your technicians Kia-certified?

Yes. Our technicians are Kia-certified, and some hold ASE certifications as well.

How do I schedule service?

You can call, email, or visit our service page and schedule online.

Do you handle Kia recalls?

Yes. We handle a great deal of recall and warranty work for Kias.

Do you install home chargers or work with anyone who does?

We don't install home charging equipment at the dealership, but we can point you toward qualified local installation resources. A home charger should always be installed by a properly licensed electrician. If you're buying an EV and want help understanding the charging setup you'll need, call us at 779-206-2400 and we'll walk you through it.

Can you do tires, brakes and alignment in one visit?

Yes, and doing them together is the right order of operations: new tires, brake service and an alignment in one appointment protects the tires you just paid for. We sell and mount tires for Kia vehicles, do brake service with parts meant for your model, and align to factory specification. Ask about our tire price match when you call. Book at 815-725-2575.

Do I have to service my Kia here to keep the warranty valid?

No. Federal law is clear that using an independent shop or doing your own maintenance does not void your factory warranty, as long as the required maintenance is performed on schedule and you keep the records. What a Kia dealer gives you is factory-trained technicians, Kia diagnostic equipment, genuine parts and the ability to perform warranty and recall work at no charge to you. Keep every receipt either way. Questions: 815-725-2575.

Do you handle collision or body work?

Tell us what happened and we will point you to the right shop. Mechanical repair, diagnostics, alignment and suspension work after a minor incident are handled in our service department. Structural, paint and panel work belong in a certified collision facility, and we will refer you to one and coordinate with your insurance adjuster so your Kia is repaired to factory specification with genuine parts. Start at 815-725-2575.

Do you have express or quick-lane service for routine work?

For routine maintenance — oil and filter, tire rotation, multi-point inspection — we work to get you in and back out the same visit, and many customers wait in the lounge. Diagnostic work, warranty repairs and anything needing parts take longer and get scheduled properly instead of rushed. Call 815-725-2575 with what you need and we will tell you honestly whether it is a wait-for-it job or a leave-it-with-us job. Service hours: Mon–Fri 7:00 AM–6:00 PM · Sat 8:00 AM–4:00 PM · Sun Closed.

Does my new Kia come with complimentary maintenance?

Manufacturer maintenance offers change by model year and program, and the dealership does not set them. What is constant is the factory warranty coverage that comes with a new Kia and the requirement to keep your scheduled maintenance documented. Call 815-725-2575 and we will tell you exactly what your VIN is entitled to.

How often does my Kia need an oil change?

We recommend every 6000 miles due to the harsh Chicago weather. Follow the interval in your owner's manual and the maintenance minder in the vehicle, not a sticker rule of thumb. Modern Kia engines running full synthetic typically go substantially longer between changes than older cars did, and severe-duty driving — short trips, towing, extreme cold, heavy idling — shortens the interval. Bring the vehicle in and we will read the schedule for your exact model year, engine and driving pattern: 815-725-2575.

What is Kia Connect and does my vehicle have it?

Kia Connect is Kia's connected-vehicle service — remote start and climate control, vehicle status, stolen-vehicle assistance and roadside features through the phone app, on equipped models. Availability, included trial period and subscription pricing are set by Kia and vary by model year and trim. Bring your VIN or call 815-725-2575 and we will confirm what your vehicle supports and help you activate it.

Questions

Do you price-match tires?

Bring us the written quote and we are glad to look at it. We can often match or come close on comparable tires, though it depends on the tire and the terms of the competing offer. Call the service department at 815-725-2575 with the quote and we will tell you straight.

Can I order parts and accessories?

Yes. We can help you with your order in person or on the phone.

To remain eligible, the customer must complete the required maintenance and service at World Kia Joliet. Tires and brakes are major ownership expenses that factory warranties typically do not cover, so the program can save a customer money over the life of the vehicle. What should I absolutely not sign until I've read it?

Anything you feel you need more time to review. We can also send you any document in advance so you can read it before you arrive.

Can I bring my kids or my dog while we shop?

Yes to both. Buying a car takes time and plenty of our customers arrive with children in tow; there is seating, restrooms and refreshments, and paperwork can be split so one parent is free. Well-behaved leashed dogs are welcome in the showroom too. If a quiet corner or a shorter visit would help, tell us when you call 779-206-2400 and we will have the vehicle and the numbers ready before you walk in.

Is World Kia Joliet involved in the local community?

Yes — the store supports local schools, teams and community organizations in and around Joliet and Will County. Rather than list claims here, we would rather point you at what customers actually say about how they were treated, which is the whole purpose of this site. If you represent a local group looking for support, call 779-206-2400 and ask for management.

Where do your used cars come from?

Mostly from our own customers. Trade-ins from people buying their next vehicle here, lease returns, and off-rental or retired loaner vehicles make up the bulk of what we retail, and we buy vehicles outright from people who are not buying from us. Sometimes auctions as well. Everything we retail is inspected first and the history report is shown to you. Browse what is on the ground at our used inventory.

Do you have WiFI

Yes we do. And it is free to use.

Do you offer free coffee?

Yes we certainly do. It starts brewing at 7AM each day in the service waiting room.

Questions

Warranty & Protection

Does the 100K Mile Promise cost extra, and what is the catch?

No, it doesn't cost extra. It is a complimentary warranty. Every new Kia from World Kia Joliet includes the 100K Mile Promise; it's included with the vehicle, not an add-on you buy at signing. The program covers three full sets of tire replacements or three full sets of brake replacements, with pads and rotors, during your first 100,000 miles, with coverage beginning at 33,000 miles. Depending on how you drive, owners typically save between $1,700 and $4,200 compared to paying for that work out of pocket. YouTube + 2 Now the honest answer to "what's the catch," because there are real requirements, and we would rather you know them on day one than discover them at mile 40,000. The promise stays valid when you maintain the car with us: tire rotations every 6,000 miles, an alignment every 12,000 miles or 12 months, and brake fluid flushes at 30K, 60K, and 90K miles, all performed at World Kia's Service Center. When tires are replaced, a four-wheel alignment is done at your expense, and brake replacements happen when the pads reach 2mm, the point where they genuinely need replacing. The program excludes commercial vehicles, rideshare vehicles, and electric vehicles, and tire selection is made by World Kia based on availability. Worldkiajoliet + 2 Here's the way to think about it: the "catch" is that you maintain your car on schedule, which is what protects the vehicle anyway. Those rotations come with a free brake inspection every visit, so the requirement that keeps the promise valid is the same routine that keeps your family safe. If you were already planning to take care of the car, there is no catch, there's just several thousand dollars of tires and brakes you no longer pay for. See us for complete program details and we'll walk you through the terms before you sign anything. There is no charge for this warranty and no requirement that you keep it.

How is the factory Kia warranty different from the 100K Mile Promise?

They are two separate things. The Kia factory warranty comes from the manufacturer with a new vehicle and is the same at every Kia dealer in the country. The 100K Mile Promise is a World Kia Joliet program attached to qualifying vehicles we sell. Because they are different documents with different terms, ask for both in writing on the vehicle you are considering and read what each one covers. 779-206-2400.

What actually voids a warranty?

Neglect and modification, not routine independent service. Skipping required maintenance, ignoring a warning light until damage is done, off-road or competition use, flood or collision damage, a salvage title, an odometer that has been tampered with, and aftermarket modifications that cause the failure are the real risks. Using another shop or your own oil change does not void your factory warranty as long as the schedule is met and you keep the receipts. Questions about a specific repair: 815-725-2575. The OEM has specific lists of this.

Questions

This Site

Can a bad review be deleted from this site?

No. Stories are published as the customer wrote them, spelling and all, and they are not edited for tone or trimmed of criticism. The only changes ever made are removals of personal information such as phone numbers or account numbers, and those removals are logged. What we can add is a clearly marked response from the dealership or the team member named — the response never becomes part of the customer's words. See (/how-this-works).

Why are there no star ratings on this site?

Because a star is not evidence. Every published page here answers one question instead — would this customer send a friend to the person who helped them — and shows the customer's own words, unedited, with their city, their vehicle and the team member they worked with. A number averages people into nothing; a story tells you whether your situation looks like theirs. Read how this works for exactly how stories are collected and measured.

Questions

EV & Hybrid

What is the difference between a hybrid and a plug-in hybrid?

A hybrid charges its own battery while you drive; a plug-in hybrid also plugs in and can run a limited distance on electricity alone before the gas engine takes over. A hybrid such as a Niro Hybrid or Sportage Hybrid never needs a cord. A plug-in like the Sportage Plug-In Hybrid rewards you most if you can charge at home or at work and your daily driving is short. If most of your miles are highway miles and you cannot plug in, the plain hybrid is usually the better fit. We will walk through your commute with you at 779-206-2400.

What maintenance does an EV actually need?

Less than a gas car, but not none. An electric Kia has no oil changes, no spark plugs and no exhaust, so the routine list is mostly tires, brake fluid, cabin air filter, coolant for the battery and drive systems, and software updates. Brakes may last longer because regenerative braking does much of the slowing. Follow the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual — keeping those services documented also protects your battery and powertrain coverage. Our shop is Kia-trained for EV work: 815-725-2575.

Questions

What's in Stock

Can you get a vehicle from another dealer if you do not have it?

Often, yes. When the exact trim and color you want is not on our lot, we can look for a dealer trade, check what is already in transit to us, or place a factory order. Dealer trades depend on another store's willingness and the vehicle's demand, so it is never a guarantee. Give us the must-haves and the acceptable colors at 779-206-2400 and we will tell you honestly which route is fastest.

Do you have any Kias under $25,000?

Yes. We have it in stock. Most often among the Soul, Seltos, K4, K5 and Sportage and in our used inventory, and what sits under $25,000 shifts with the incentives running that month. Rather than quote a number that expires, check new inventory and used inventory, or tell us your budget at 779-206-2400 and we will show you what actually fits it out the door.

Do you have AWD vehicles in stock for Illinois winters?

Yes. We have it in stock. All-wheel drive is available on Sportage, Sorento, Telluride, Seltos, Carnival AWD models and the EV9, and we stock AWD heavily because of the winters here. Filter for it at our new inventory. If you are deciding between AWD and front-wheel drive with good winter tires, call 779-206-2400 and we will talk through your actual commute.

Do you have the Carnival in stock?

Yes. We have it in stock. Carnival selection depends heavily on trim, and the hybrid moves faster than the gas model. See our new inventory for what is here right now, and call 779-206-2400 to be told plainly whether the configuration you want is on the ground, in transit, or a factory order.

Do you have the EV6 or EV9 in stock?

Yes. We have it in stock. Electric inventory is the most variable on the lot, and drivetrain and battery choices multiply the combinations. Check our new inventory, then call 779-206-2400 — we will tell you what is physically here, what is in transit, and what charging at home would look like for you before you commit.

Do you have the Seltos, Soul or K4 in stock?

Yes. We have it in stock. These are our most affordable models and they turn over quickly, so we stock them in large quantities. Our new inventory shows what is on the ground today. If your priority is a payment rather than a specific model, call 779-206-2400 and we will show you every model that lands in your range.

Do you have the Sorento in stock?

Yes. We have it in stock. Sorento selection changes weekly and the gas, hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions stock differently. The current list is at our new inventory. Call 779-206-2400 with the trim, seating layout and drivetrain you want and we will confirm what is here or what it takes to get it.

Do you have the Sportage in stock?

Yes. We have it in stock. In more than one form, too — the Sportage is sold as a gas model, a hybrid and a plug-in hybrid, and each has its own availability. Check our new inventory for what is on the ground today, then call 779-206-2400 so we can confirm the trim and color before you make the drive.

Do you have the Telluride in stock?

Yes. We have it in stock. Telluride selection moves constantly, and trim and color matter as much as the model. The live list is at our new inventory; if the exact configuration you want is not on the ground, we can often locate one or place a factory order. Tell us the trim, drivetrain and colors you would accept at 779-206-2400 and we will tell you what is realistic and how long it takes.

Do you have third-row SUVs in stock?

Yes. We have ithem in stock. Three Kias seat a third row: Sorento for a compact third row, Telluride for a full-size one, and EV9 for the electric version. Carnival is the minivan alternative and seats more comfortably than any of them. Selection by trim changes weekly — see our new inventory or call 779-206-2400 and tell us how often the third row actually gets used.

How often does your inventory change?

Daily. New vehicles arrive throughout the week, used inventory changes as trades come in, and popular trims can sell the same day they are listed. The list at our new inventory is the live one. If you want to be told the moment a specific configuration lands, call 779-206-2400 and we will keep your list on file.

What is your cheapest new Kia right now?

It changes with inventory and with the month's programs, so we will give you the current answer rather than a stale one. Typically the entry point is a Soul, Seltos or K4 in base trim. Ask for the out-the-door price, not the advertised price, so you are comparing the real number: new inventory or 779-206-2400.

Questions

Leasing

Can I get out of a lease early?

Often, yes, and sometimes at no cost to you. The three normal paths are a lease buyout, an early trade into a new vehicle if the market value covers the payoff, or a straight sale to the dealership. Which one works depends on your payoff figure and what the vehicle is worth today. Give us the mileage and the payoff quote from Kia Finance and we will tell you plainly whether there is equity or a shortfall. 779-206-2400.

Can I turn in a lease from another brand at your store?

Ask before you drive it anywhere. Grounding a lease is handled by the bank that holds it, and many lenders only accept a turn-in at a dealer of that brand. What we can almost always do is appraise the vehicle and buy it outright, which is worth checking first — if it is worth more than the payoff, that equity belongs to you and can move into your next vehicle. Call 779-206-2400 to get the appraisal started.

What do I actually pay at lease signing?

Usually a first payment, taxes and government fees, the documentation fee, and whatever capitalized cost reduction you choose to put down. Some advertised lease payments assume several thousand dollars due at signing; others are structured with first payment only. Neither is better or worse until you compare the total of the payments plus the money down. Ask us to show you the same lease two ways — low money down and higher money down — and pick the one that fits. 779-206-2400.

What happens if I go over my lease miles?

You pay a per-mile charge at turn-in, and the rate is printed in your lease contract. The cheaper fix is to notice early: if you are tracking ahead of your allowance, you can often buy additional miles up front at a lower rate than the end-of-lease charge, or you can trade or buy out the lease before the mileage matters at all. Bring the contract in and we will do the math with you before it becomes a bill. 779-206-2400.

Questions

Used & Certified

Are your used cars inspected before they go on the lot?

Yes. Every used vehicle we retail goes through our shop before it is offered for sale, and Certified Pre-Owned Kias go through the manufacturer's additional inspection and reconditioning requirements. We will show you the vehicle history report, and you are welcome to take a used vehicle to your own mechanic before you buy. Ask us for the reconditioning detail on the specific car: 779-206-2400.

Do your used cars come with any warranty?

It depends on the vehicle, and we will tell you which one you are looking at before you sign. A Certified Pre-Owned Kia carries manufacturer-backed coverage. A newer used vehicle may still have factory warranty remaining. Older or higher-mileage vehicles can be sold as-is, and when they are, that is disclosed in writing on the Buyers Guide in the window. Ask for the coverage in writing for the exact VIN — see what is in stock at our used inventory or call 779-206-2400.

How old or high-mileage a car will you actually sell?

If it is not safe and not honestly represented, it does not go on our front line. Some older, higher-mileage trade-ins are wholesaled rather than retailed. The ones we do keep are inspected, the history report is shown, and any as-is status is disclosed on the window before you sign anything. If you have a budget and a mileage limit, tell us and we will show you what fits at our used inventory.
